Nearly six months ago 'The 8-Bit Guy' made a video telling you the Commander X16 was nearly done and ready to be produced. But it needed a bit more funding. This worked so well, that one hundred instead of fifty machines could be made as first production run for hardware and software developers. This video shows how this went plus more information and updates on the whole project.

There's a new minesweeping galore for Plus/4 to challenge in the city, and its name is MineDetector! The powerful and long running LUMYDCTT IDE and compiler application created by Charlemagne shows its muscles again with a classic game where to avoid the mines buried in a field.

'Missile Defence' is another take on 'Missile Command', a 1980 shoot 'em up arcade video game developed and published by Atari, Inc. This version was made by Dr.Mortal Wombat, the maker of Minotrace, Ball and Chain, Gates of the Ancient, Plekthora. You control three anti ICBM missile launch sites, if you run out of missiles or launch sites or the enemy missiles you are out of luck until the end of the stage. Target and fire your missiles using the joystick in port 2 or the 1351 mouse in port 1.

By complete fluke, GTW has matched last month’s tally of updates, with 1 new entry and 20 updates for the C64 GTW archive. This includes a rare screenshot from the C64 edition of D-Day and also an original TAP image preserved for Money Minefield.

This second preview of the re-imagining of the Tiki character from The New Zealand Story in a brand new C64 game being developed by Robert Wilson adds an additional enemy from Level 1-1 of the original arcade game to see how it looks and given it a new colour palette and overlay to enhance its look. Both the snail and crab look quite close to the originals. It's limited to just two frames of animation for both, to keep number of sprites in my sprite bank to a minimum. Both enemies are the same sprites just multiplexed. No collision detection so far yet in this preview.

Xevious is a vertically scrolling shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco in 1982. One "last" gameplay bug to be confirmed. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price). Features: - identical game play to the original arcade game, including the pseudo-random number generation. - original dipswitch options supported (except cocktail cabinet mode). - all original graphics and colours reproduced perfectly on Neo Geo target. - 1 or 2 players supported. - high score load/save

Time and Magik is a trilogy of interactive fiction games by Level 9. The individual games were initially released separately in 1983-1986. In 1988 the three games were revised, expanded and re-released together as a compilation. Like 'Gnome Ranger' (see below), 'Time and Magik' was also ported from C64 by Csabo/LOD.

Gnome Ranger is a text adventure game designed by Peter Austin and released by Level 9 in 1987 for several platforms, including the C64, which this port is of course based on. The manual included with the original C64 game is called The Gnettlefield Journal. The game contains copy protection, which asks for a word from the manual. Page 26, Line 1, Word 8: THE
