C64 Amiga C128 Plus/4 VIC-20 PET

'NeonWorld' is a WIP Shoot-em-up for Amiga 500 that is currently in open development and which is available as downloadable demo version on GitHub. New in v0.2: - The level has grown to a size of 27 screens.and there is a boss at the end.

Jan is trying to fix a Commodore 64 board that was given to him by his late friend ZXkim81 in 2017.

The famous 'Prince of Persia' by Jordan Mechner already got some impressive 8-bit versions, now there is one more. When VIC-20 developer Lechuck saw a version for the Spectrum, he thought that something similar, to some extent, could be done for the VIC-20. Given the difference in available RAM many simplifications had to be done. This is clearly noticeable in the movements (not as smooth as the original) and, especially, in the sword fighting. Besides this, this VIC-20 version includes 9 levels (these try to be similar to the 9 first levels of the original version) plus the final scene with the Princess.

When Atari ST and the Amiga came out, these two systems and their fans fought a tough battle: which was the better system? A real war of identity. This "war" is made playable as a duel game with the corresponding logos through 12 levels. This culture war ends with the victory of the consoles and a little later with new, inexpensive PCs and 3D graphics cards.

As suggested (see news below) there is now also a C64 version of Inufuto's recently released shooter game 'AntiAir'.

This game is a port of the 1973 BASIC game 'Hammurabi' to C. It has been enhanced with some graphics and music. In this game you impersonate Hammurabi, the administrator of Sumeria. You start of with 1000 acres, 100 people and 3000 bushels of grain. The games lasts for ten turns (years). At each turn you may buy or sell land, the price will vary each turn. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developer.

'The Elves of Maroland' is a text/graphic adventure and the English translation, from the original Spanish. Furthermore, this is the port / remake made with DAAD between 2022 and 2024 of the original adventure, made with the legendary PAWS in 1993. An attempt has been made to improve the literature, correct bugs, add new puzzles, etc., but preserving the original story, development and setting. Besides a version for C64 and Amiga, there are also versions for Amstrad, Atari ST, Spectrum, MSX and PC-DOS.

'AntiAir' is an oldschool arcade style shooter, where you have to annihilating all UFOs while avoiding falling bombs and blocks. The game was made by Japanese developer Inufuto and as always, there are several version for different computer systems, now including one for Plus/4 and C16 (32k). A C64 port might also happen the next days.

A Commodore 64 can be used to view the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse with the help of some software from 1984 called "Sky Travel: A Window To Our Galaxy". We take a quick look at the original boxed program, complete with floppy disk, manual, and diskette replacement card! Then with the help of a 1541 disk drive and some vigorous head knocks, we get the software booted, configured (with some advice from Commodore friend Bruce Thomas), and finally view the eclipse.

'Cats 'n Critters' is a platformer game for the C64. It that offers besides a single player mode also a 2 player competitive option and you can get it as digital download for a little money to support the developer. Join Maple and Button as they accept their roles as guardians of the garden and embark upon their quest to catch as many butterflies as possible, harnessing their magic to fend off the critters, as the fate of the garden rests on their furry shoulders!
