David is the former marketing director for Commodore, and gained notoriety for his use of software bundles to sell computers, especially in the UK. He's also the author of "Commodore - The Inside Story", which detailed the internal workings of Commodore during its waning years. He's following this book up with a look at the Amiga: "From Vultures to Vampires", which looks at what became of Amiga after Commodore vanished into the mist.

01.07.2020 - Making a C64/C65 compatible computer - Built-in Sprite Editor ProgressJust a quick post to report on progress on the integrated sprite editor that will be built as a plug-in to the Freeze Menu. The reason for doing this is that unlike BASIC 7 on the C128, the C65's BASIC 10 doesn't include a sprite editor. There is already this plug-in framework, where the Freeze Menu can call helper programmes for the audio mixer. So it was really just a case of making the sprite editor itself. But read on...

It certainly doesn't mean crap, although it can! Craptastic can mean ludicrous, bonkers, outrageous, funny, wacky, far out, and silly. The theme simply implies that the compo was just for a bit of fun, not a serious coding competition. Competitors were welcome to make an excellent game to submit for the compo, or games that contain some humour or silliness to fit more with the theme, but they didn't have to!

30.06.2020 - C64 game 'Othello Revenge' releasedThis is another take on 'Othello', a 'Reversi' variant made for C64. The game was coded by Matteo Angelini with music and graphics by Richard Bayliss and is free for download.
29.06.2020 - New C64 SHMUP 'ZetaWing' announced'ZetaWing', a new game from Sarah Jane Avory, the author of the highly praised shooter 'Neutron' and the upcoming, desperate awaited RPG 'Briley Witch Chronicles', has been announced. It will be a vertical shoot’em up that is inspired by classic shooters Twinbee and Gemini Wings.
29.06.2020 - New Amiga game 'BlitzWays' released and free for download'BlitzWays' is an oldschool concentration-demanding puzzle-deconstruction game in the fashion of MahJong and Lin-Wus Challenge. You pick pairs systematically from a large set of tiles and respect certain rules of alignment or accessibility. The game was written for the Amiga 500. 'BlitzWays' is Freeware. The Game is intended for Kids also, probably from the age of 12+. I would have played it when i was 12. Download here.
29.06.2020 - A Commodore SX-64 keyboard restoration documented on retrohax.netSome time ago, 'Drygol' from retrohax.net was asked to fix a SX-64 keyboard. He never worked on SX-64 gear and he also didn’t know what was wrong with that keyboard. Then some pics arrived and manifested in what bad condition it was. But since he already agreed that he’ll fix it, there was no excuse and the 'party' began...
