07.02.2021 - WIP Amiga game 'Pitfall 2: The Lost Caverns' as alpha version released
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external linkThere is a first draft alpha of 'Pitfall 2: The Lost Caverns' for Amiga, that can be downloaded and tested. The game still needs a lot of polish, but it is a fully working and completable port of the C64 release. Unfortunately, this first release won't run smoothly on an A500 - but it should be OK on an A1200 (future updates should be a lot more optimal). Graphics are mostly from the Sega arcade version, though it's temporarily using the Quickclaw and Rhonda sprites from the NES 30th anniversary Super Pitfall hack as neither character appeared in the arcade machine. Music from modarchive.org. The developer wants to put it aside for a while and come back to it in future. Asides from optimization and polish, it'd be cool to add levels exclusive to the arcade machine and other editions later on, as he states.
