30.06.2023 - Amiga demo game 'Monkey lad' released - free for download
'Monkey lad' is a scroll platform game with a monkey as actor. It was made by 'Toolkitman', who found it as demo and compiled it for release. Currently 'Toolkitman' is working on 'Gothic Vania' (see below). He also released some more Amiga mini games currently on his itch.io page.

Escape Room is an exciting maze-adventure game for C64 featuring real time ray casting of the torch, lots of mazes for solving, very catchy music and saved high scores The Player will have certain amount of time to solve the maze in the total darkness using torch light only. Torch has limited range and player can't see through the maze walls. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price).

29.06.2023 - WIP Amiga (AGA) game 'Gothic Vania' - Demo version released
'Gothic Vania' for AGA Amiga is a run-and-gun platform game with with slight similarities to Ghost'n'Goblins, especially because the playable level, that is offered for testing, is the 'Cemetery' level. This demo version is available as free digital download.

Another month gone already, and now as we enter into Summer, here is another GTW64 update with 7 new entries into the archive, including a title which oddly doesn’t seem to have had a UK release by Ocean and another which is based on a popular UK soap.

28.06.2023 - Hello World on Commodore 64 in Assembly Language, Machine Code - video from '8-Bit Show And Tell'
Today we look at programming the classic "Hello World" program on the Commodore 64. First we show the trivial BASIC version, and then 6502/6510 Assembly Language, Machine Language, and Machine Code variations in different environments: Turbo Macro Pro v1.2, SuperMON by Jim Butterfield, and a BASIC loader, respectively. To keep it interesting, each environment has a slightly different approach to displaying the Hello World text. No ChatGPT was involved in the making of this video.

Bulbmaster is a sokoban-style game with a twist, which won the 1st place in the Decrunch 2023 Gamedev competition. The player assumes the role of a mechanic whose task is to move electric spheres to their sockets. The challenge lies in the fact that wooden crates can only be moved one space at a time, whereas the electric spheres will roll until they encounter an obstacle!

YAPE is a decent no-nonsense Plus/4 emulator thats being developed for 10+ years. It is available in Windows as well as multiplatform editions. Let's kick off the impending cucumber season with a new release of YAPE, a tad earlier than usual in recent years. Majority of the changes were critical bugs being fixed along with some very specialized features like: - more informative trace window in 32-bit developer build. - improved CPU halt. - improved PAL display phase inversion. - bug in unmapped memory write in 16kB mode. - joystick reset and uninitialized state vector. - more reliable monitor command history and navigation. - various palette related bugs fixed (in high accuracy mode; digi palette in OpenGL mode etc.)
