11.11.2021 - Petscii Robots invade the C128, Amiga, Plus/4 and more! - new video from 'The 8-Bit Guy'
As a recap: Most of you already know, that Petscii Robots had ports for the PET , VIC-20, C64, Apple II, Atari 8-Bit and the Commander X16. But at the end of the last video some 6502 systems were mentioned, that yet have no port. A lot of people took it as a challenge and now there are 7 actual ports in progress. This video shows some of them, that are already finished.

06.06.2021 - Porting Dungeon from Commodore PET to C64 - new Video from '8-Bit Show And Tell'
Robin's all-time favourite Commodore PET game is Dungeon by Brian Sawyer, from 1979 - one of the very first "Rogue-likes", made even before Rogue itself! He learned that the Commodore 64 doesn't have a working version of Dungeon, so he decided to modify the PET original to run on the C64.

Lemmings was a great 1991-vintage game for all the key computers of the day - Amiga, C64, Atari, Apple II, etc. But no one ever brought the game out for the 1980s vintage Commodore PET. So here is one .. most of the work was done in one weekend as part of Toronto GameJam.

It's a complete rewrite of the classic, award-winning Hibernated game using Infocom's Z-machine standard, with tons of additional narrative content and riddles. In 1978 Instant Software released Casino II: Craps along with many other titles for the Commodore PET, TRS-80, and other personal computers of the era. They were remarkable for their professional packaging and higher-quality documentation in an era where the little commercial software available was provided in a plastic baggie with instructions on a folded sheet of paper. Today we'll open a new old stock game and see if the cassette still works!

It seems to be increasingly forgotten that the compact cassette wasn't just used with personal computers in the UK, but was an integral part of the USA (and Canadian) experience for many up until the mid-1980s before disk became the data storage format of choice. Today we look through Robin's collection of North American-released software on tape, and the computers that use it, from the 1977 trinity of TRS-80, Apple II and Commodore PET, through to the Commodore 64, Coleco ADAM and Tomy Tutor.
