As announced in October, 'Wiz - Quest for the Magic Lantern' for Amiga (AGA) was now released as physical and digital format from www.MutationSoftware.uk. Enter the realms of magic and lead Wiz the last elder wizard on a quest to find the Magic Lantern. Using your trusty book of magic and spell potions, you must traverse many hazardous paths to finally restore light to where dark magic has prevailed. This game is intended both for true avid Amiga game collectors and new players alike.

'Showdown' is a 1 or 2-player action shooter for the Commodore 64. The game is inspired by a host of older titles with the same theme, going all the way back to Gun Fight from 1975. You play a cowboy out to win a fierce gun duel. The first one to outwit and knock down the opponent 5 times is the winner of the duel. In order to download this game you must purchase it at or above the minimum price of $1 USD.

Soul Force, the epic horizontal shooter from Sarah Jane Avory is coming soon for the C64 via Protovision. The game will be released on a 512K cartridge that will be filled with great arcade action, plenty of levels, gorgeous bitmap screens and pumping music.

Retro Games Ltd, the company that manufactures the TheC64 (I never know if I should add the article before that name!), has announced a game development competition that seeks the best game for the Commodore 64 and VIC-20. The first place will be awarded a brand new THEC64 with an additional boxed THEC64 Microswitch Joystick. The runner up will get a THEC64 Mini and the Joystick as well. They add that if there are enough submissions for people under 17, they will create a new category exclusive for the younger game developers. [read on]

As announced some days ago: C64 tile 'Death Saw Challenge' was released. A horror blood-thirsty but fun single screen score attack game from The New Dimension. You play the role of Fuzzi, a cute blue creature. You have been thrown into a deadly dungeon. You are not alone. You have company ... Aah, how nice and wonderful ... Well, it is not really that nice. Death saws appear from nowhere and they are out to get you.
