25.08.2021 - 'Games That Weren't 64' (GTW64) August 2021 update
As the summer starts to draw to a close, GTW preserves an early Hungarian Tetris clone thanks to Csaba Virag. Then there is a look at what seems to be a long lost Commodore 64 conversion of a PET/VIC 20 title, two other Magic-series sets of titles that are at large, a long lost and promising game from Norway and a potential conversion of a late Mikro-Gen title. This along with 16 updates to existing entries, with a few findings and additional details added.

25.08.2021 - Video shows WIP Amiga game 'Wizonk'
'Wizonk', made in Scorpion Engine, is a 4 player platform deathmatch party game with single screen maps (think Bubble Bobble or Fuzzball) with frantic spell-casting gameplay. Supports 4 player adapters on real Amigas. Supports 4 controllers, or 2 controllers + 2 keyboard players in emulation. Runs on all 1MB Amigas (may require 1MB chip when finished?). It’s all very early days for this but it’s starting out nicely.

'Arazmax' is a shooter/puzzle game for Amiga. It was originally released in August 1992. You control a disc-like ship and use the joystick to clear each maze-like level of multiplying enemies. The game was partly inspired by a shooter called Microbes, which featured a multiplying foe, and the look of the ship was inspired by Cosmic Pirate. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price).

Jochen Heffer's 'Crazy Columns' is a clone of the classic Sega-Genesis game Columns for one or two players, which can be played with joystick or keyboard. V1.02 is now available in German or English as free download. Here are a few small features: - Best list as well as settings are loaded/saved. - Online key generation for the online highscore. -Personalized backgrounds can be used. - Animations and sound FX for more gameplay.

'Willow Pattern' was originally released by Greg Duddle in 1986 on the Mr Micro and Firebird labels. The 'Jolie Edition' (inspired by retro Twitch streamer theJolieJones) includes gameplay tweaks, bug fixes and a few special bonus items. Changes in this new edition include: - Diagonal movement (joystick/emulated joystick only). - New ending screens. - It is now possible to score 100%. - Secret bonus items. - Tweaks to samurai positions. - Music 'softened' by dmx (rebelandroid). - Cheat options
- Birds flying over the bridge. - Exit bridge from either side. - Switch music on/off. - Other minor tweaks and bug fixes

22.08.2021 - Joysticks In The Form of Trackballs: The Wico Command Control and the Roklan Un-Roller Controller - new Video from '8-Bit Show And Tell'
The Wico Command Control and the Roklan Un-Roller Controller are both Atari & Commodore-compatible joystick substitutes in the form of a trackball; one is an actual trackball with extra logic to simulate a joystick, while the other is more of a giant d-pad in the form of a trackball! Robin puts them to the test with a couple rounds of GORF on the Commodore 64, and then we take a look inside to see how they work, and view my typical clumsy efforts at maintenance and repair on them.

Deniser is a drop-in replacement for the Amiga computer Denise chip. This repository contains board design files, FPGA logic source code and synthesis scripts. The idea is to make the material available for anyone to build and program the board for use as a Denise chip replacement. Denise is the Amiga custom chip responsible for most of the graphic related tasks such as bitplane display, palette registers, smooth scrolling, hardware sprites, flexible screen object priority, collision detection and more. In the Amiga, Denise operates in concert with the Agnus (DMA, blitter, copper) and Paula (I/O, interrupt controller). The chipset was released in 1985.
