31.01.2026 - The previous owner tried and failed to fix this C64: Can I fix it? - video by 'Adrian's Digital Basement'
Here's a sad C64 motherboard as seen on a recent Turbo Mail Call episode. Someone had previously damaged this motherboard by yanking out three chips. This sent the previous owner on a journey trying to fix this board, which resulted in almost all of the chips being socketed and swapped out. Nothing worked, so can Adrian get it working?

31.01.2026 - Commodore 1984 Movie Poster Calendar + My Top 12 - video by '8-Bit Show And Tell'
In 1984, Commodore Computers (Canada) released a Movie Poster Calendar, a collection of 12 posters from upcoming films. The calendar was sold throughout Commodore's distribution network nation-wide, and proceeds went to support two charities that benefit children. In addition to looking through the calendar and the 12 movies included, we learn a bit about Commodore Canada's president, Arthur E. Goodall, a VIC-ATHON fundraiser he ran, Robin's 12 favourite movies of 1984, and some kind of relevant 8-bit reference in most all of those movies. Happy New Year!

30.01.2026 - Video: Snowy vs The Killer Penguins (C64) - Preview 2 (with commentary)...
A very quick look at the penguins which are now walking around. This game is based on an old 1985 game called Mr.Frosty and the Killer Penguins. No timescales for the completion of the project, but from early work there's a lot of potential for a new game.

30.01.2026 - C64 game 'BitGang' released - free for download
'BitGang' is an extended remake of the excellent Bitgram iPhone game by French studio 1button. In this game, you put tetris like pieces that can't rotate on a playboard. There are two different colors and you can only put a piece on it's opposite color. When you drop a piece on the board, you get a new one of the other color and you earn one point. Game stops when you can't put anymore piece on the board, so there is a minimum of strategy to be used. As re-making the original game for the C64 was not fun enough the developers also added an "extended" mode, where you have more different boards, more pieces and also a change of board and pieces from time to time when your reach 10 or 50 points increments.

27.01.2026 - Video: Ghosts'n'Goblins AGA Amiga remake WIP
Start of level 1. The rest also works besides the water jump. The scrolling to the left is not 100%, and the frog colors are off. The 6809 to 68000 transcoding technique that was used allows to get all levels working at once, no need to painstakingly placing enemies, recreating what has already been done perfectly moons ago. There's also some footage showing a short part of the cave level, with exclusive IM76 level 3 tune rendition.

26.01.2026 - C64 game 'Bubble Bobble: Lost Cave' released
'Bubble Bobble: Lost Cave' brings the legendary fan-made arcade hack Lost Cave from 2012 to the C64, featuring 100 brand-new levels originally designed by TAITO as extra content for the console versions - now carefully adapted for Commodore’s beloved 8-bit machine. Built upon the technical foundations of Bubble Bobble Remastered, this project represents its natural evolution and completion. Thanks to extensive reverse engineering and custom tools developed internally, it finally became possible to recreate Lost Cave on C64 with a level of accuracy and respect that was previously unattainable. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developer.
