20.06.2026 - 'Games That Weren't 64' (GTW64) - Three Big Commodore 64 recoveries
What a lovely surprise for the weekend: GTW64 is very pleased to add not one, but three significant C64 recoveries to the archives thanks to former Beam Software developer Tony Smales. First up is Arcade Wizzard, a long-lost U.S. Gold pinball game that GTW64 has been trying to solve for over 22 years. Thanks to Tony, we can finally confirm its Beam Software origins and present a playable prototype. Joining it is an Australian prototype of Aussie Games, containing a number of interesting differences from the released editions, plus Tony’s own unreleased game Void – a complete commercial title that sadly fell victim to publishing changes before release.

Cyber-Run is a cyberpunk role-playing and dungeon crawler game (Roguelike) developed natively for the C64. The year is 2085. You will infiltrate the analog bunker 'Black-Ice', an isolated underground facility where rogue AIs and corporate secrets from Arasaka are hidden from the net. Features: dynamic progression, procedural sector generation, chrome degradation mechanic,three playable configurations. You can get the game in four different languages (english, french, german, spanish) as digital download for little money(name your own price) to support the developer.

'Princess Amelia' is a nice little platformer game for C64. Help Princess Amelia collect the "Letter Shields" that spell her name. Climb 20 floors of the Castle, avoid or collect the gems it's up to you. Be careful as time is limited and Princess Amelia can be Impatient!

'Delete Me Hard' is an abstract arcade shooter for C64 about surviving a DELETE_ME snake, clearing its letters, and building your run through upgrades. Features: 30-level campaign, modern upgrade loop, roguelite-style progression, two-player mode, special weapons. You can get the game as digital download (also available for Atari XL/XE, NES) for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developer.

Ouroboros is a homebrew puzzle game for the C64. You control a snake and your objective is to make it bite the tip of its own tail. However, of course the tail moves whenever you move and there are plenty of obstacles, including the rest of your snake's body. Features 50 increasingly mind-bending puzzles, unlimited undo's, new major puzzle mechanic introduced every 10 levels; each explored from many angles, no progress gates; all 50 puzzles are unlocked from the start, so you can always (temporarily) skip something when you're stuck, simple password system to save which puzzles you've beaten.

'Monaco Racer' is a small experimental C64 racing game. The project is inspired by the arcade mechanics of Monaco GP by Sega, originally released in 1979. It was created as a technical and game design test using Claude Fable5, then manually reviewed, tested in a C64 emulator and corrected where necessary. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developer.
