01.08.2023 - 'Airwolf Enhanced' for Plus/4 and C16 released - free for download
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external linkAirwolf is a skill game where you have to navigate the well known TV series helicopter through a maze. It was originally made by Richard Ikin for Elite Systems in 1985. Now there is an enhanced version available, that features: - 16 new screens, taking the total to 25. - 5 more scientists to rescue (now 8 in total). - Improved controls. - Improved chars and animation, based on C64 release. - New scoring system. - Respawn death bug removed. - Infinite score bug removed. - Cheat modes built in. - NTSC fixed. - All still crammed into 16K!

Commodore News - cascade64.de - external linkemmings is a puzzle-strategy video game originally developed by DMA Design and published by Psygnosis for the Amiga in 1991. There are ports for several systems, including C64, now there is also a version for Plus/4, rebuilt from scratch. It was made by TCFS, who also brought us 'Wizard Of Wor Classic!' for Plus/4 and was released at Árok Party 2023.
04.07.2023 - 'Tomato Worm' game for Plus/4 and VIC-20 released - free for download
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external link'Tomato Worm' is a brand new from javierglez: Tomato Worm. It's an implementation of the puzzle game by the same name, original written by GuerraGames. Puzzle through 64 levels in this nibbler style game by guiding your ever-growing worm; make sure to eat all the tomatoes before you run out of room to move. The Plus/4 disk image for download also contains the VIC-20 version.

Let's kick off the impending cucumber season with a new release of YAPE, a tad earlier than usual in recent years. Majority of the changes were critical bugs being fixed along with some very specialized features like: - more informative trace window in 32-bit developer build. - improved CPU halt. - improved PAL display phase inversion. - bug in unmapped memory write in 16kB mode. - joystick reset and uninitialized state vector. - more reliable monitor command history and navigation. - various palette related bugs fixed (in high accuracy mode; digi palette in OpenGL mode etc.)

It's an atmospheric puzzle game with rogue-like elements on 35 levels. The Amiga version comes in two flavours; the classic 8-bit looks (non-interlaced) and the enhanced looks (interlaced). You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price).

Now also an Amiga version was released. It comes in two flavours; the classic 8-bit looks (non-interlaced) and the enhanced looks (interlaced). 14.04.2023 - 'Sulphur Eye' - 3D adventure for C64 and Plus/4 released
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external link'Sulphur Eye' is a Freescape driven 3D Construction Kit game. Original game by Tomáš Zanvit, translated and documented version by O'Dog/LXT. The game is available as freedigital download.
06.04.2023 - 'Radar Rat Race' for Plus/4 and C16 released - free for download
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external link'Radar Rat Race' is a modified clone of an arcade classic released in 1980 by Namco, called Rally-X. It was first developed for the VIC-20 by HAL Laboratories in Japan, but soon enough, Namco's corporate lawyers convinced Commodore that it would not be such a good idea to release any unlicensed arcade games. So Commodore's software engineers went on and transformed the cars into rats, the streets into a maze filled with stationary cats, and renamed the game 'Radar Rat Race'. The game was a launch title for the VIC-20 released as a cartridge and was later also ported to the C64 in 1982. Game journalists at the time criticized the game's controls and repetitive sound, but called it "quite exciting and amusing to play."
03.04.2023 - 'A Case Of Murder' - Another Sam Boon adventure for C64 and Plus/4 released
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external link'A Case Of Murder' is an old-school text adventure and the sequel to The Dragnet Case. It is a multiplatform re-release of the ZX Spectrum original, using DAAD. You play Sam Boon, a private detective. The game, which is furthermore available for several other systems such as Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and MSX, can be obtained as digital download for small money (name your own price).
31.03.2023 - Plus/4 game 'MineDetector' released and free for download

The powerful and long running LUMYDCTT IDE and compiler application created by Charlemagne shows its muscles again with a classic game where to avoid the mines buried in a field.
25.03.2023 - Plus/4 port of 'Time and Magik' released
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external linkTime and Magik is a trilogy of interactive fiction games by Level 9. The individual games were initially released separately in 1983-1986. In 1988 the three games were revised, expanded and re-released together as a compilation. Like 'Gnome Ranger' (see below), 'Time and Magik' was also ported from C64 by Csabo/LOD.

22.03.2023 - 'Cracky' also got its C64 release - free for doenload
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external linkCracky is a new platformer game written by Japanese developer Inufuto. Already released for Plus/4 (see below) and several other 8-bit platforms, it now got its C64 version. Clear each level by collecting all the stars, while avoiding the baddies and keep an eye on the floors. Some parts crack when you walk over them once, creating holes in the platforms, giving the possibility to reach otherwise unreachable stars. You can download a tape image (.tap) here.
21.03.2023 - 'Cracky' - game for Plus/4 and C16 (32k) released
Commodore News - cascade64.de - external linkCracky is a new platformer game written by Japanese developer Inufuto. He writes his games using his own C compiler and assembler, and releases them on a multitude of 8-bit platforms (35+ and counting). Cracky is his 13th release. Your task is simple: clear each level by collecting all the stars, while avoiding the baddies. The title refers to the floors, some parts crack when you walk over them once, creating holes in the platforms. Since there's no jumping, on most levels you must use this to your advantage to reach otherwise unreachable stars.
