29.08.2021 - Amiga port of 'Jackal' is on its way - first demo version available and ready for download and play
Jackal, also distributed under the title of Top Gunner, is an overhead run'n gun-style shoot-'em-up video game by Konami released for the arcades in 1986. The player must maneuver an armed jeep in order to rescue prisoners of war (POWs) trapped in enemy territory. Jackal was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) on September 1988 in North America. This project attempts to port the NES version with some graphical improvements on the Amiga (OCS-ECS) platform. First demo version available for you to download and play. It's a very WIP version so don't expect too much from it!

27.08.2021 - Amiga game 'Outliner' re-released
Outliner is an arcade shooter for Amiga. The game was originally released in 1996. It is an Asteroids-style action game for one or two players. It was an evolution of Roton, Xenex, and similar rotary shooters, here distinguished by two player co-op and combat modes, and the hi-res wireframe look. You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price).

26.08.2021 - Can the Sun Help This Amiga 500? - new video from 'Noel's Retro Lab'
Today Noel is taking a sad-looking Amiga 500 and restoring it into something much better looking and much more functional. He tries both retrobrighting with sun (sunbrighting?) and with liquid hydrogen peroxide with different results. Finally, he swaps out the internal floppy disk drive for a Gotek with an external OLED screen.

26.08.2021 - C64 shooter 'Zeta Wing' Version 1.2 released
Zeta Wing is a fun vertical shoot-em-up for the Commodore 64, inspired by the arcade game Gemini Wing, and winner of both the RGN Gamers' Choice Award 2020 for the Commodore 64, and Indie Retro News Budget Game Of The Year 2020. Updates for v1.2: - Added save for settings (remembers auto-fire and difficulty level, plus high-scores). - Can save settings (including high scores) to either device 8 or 9. - Cartridge version is now Easy Flash and will auto-save settings to cartridge. - Disk version now has a proper loading screen.

25.08.2021 - 'Games That Weren't 64' (GTW64) August 2021 update
As the summer starts to draw to a close, GTW preserves an early Hungarian Tetris clone thanks to Csaba Virag. Then there is a look at what seems to be a long lost Commodore 64 conversion of a PET/VIC 20 title, two other Magic-series sets of titles that are at large, a long lost and promising game from Norway and a potential conversion of a late Mikro-Gen title. This along with 16 updates to existing entries, with a few findings and additional details added.

25.08.2021 - Video shows WIP Amiga game 'Wizonk'
'Wizonk', made in Scorpion Engine, is a 4 player platform deathmatch party game with single screen maps (think Bubble Bobble or Fuzzball) with frantic spell-casting gameplay. Supports 4 player adapters on real Amigas. Supports 4 controllers, or 2 controllers + 2 keyboard players in emulation. Runs on all 1MB Amigas (may require 1MB chip when finished?). It’s all very early days for this but it’s starting out nicely.

'Arazmax' is a shooter/puzzle game for Amiga. It was originally released in August 1992. You control a disc-like ship and use the joystick to clear each maze-like level of multiplying enemies. The game was partly inspired by a shooter called Microbes, which featured a multiplying foe, and the look of the ship was inspired by Cosmic Pirate.
