The Commodore 64 version of the Bally-Midway arcade game Kick-Man has a number of mysteries. Who programmed the C64 version? Why are there two very different versions of the game, and what platforms were they intended for? And why does the game play "blazing fast" on some Commodore 64s? We attempt to answer all these questions, as well as give more history about this somewhat infamous game in the popular "clowns popping balloons" genre of video games.

'Daimyo' by Windigo Games (also known for e.g. 'Pharaoh's Legacy', 'Rise of Babylon', 'Deathflood, 'Devolution', 'The Tribe' and ' Battle for Cronos'), is a round-based strategic war game decided at the tactical level. A multitude of variable parameters demands adaptability and foresight. Only one can win - make sure it’s you! The daimyo are powerful lords who rule over vast lands and command mighty armies. Above them stands only the shogun, to whom they owe tribute and loyalty. Should this order collapse, chaos and war ensue…

06.07.2026 - C64 game 'Rust'n'Steel Reboot' released
Rust'n'Steel' is a platformer for C64, originally coded it in 2009. Some bug fixes were made in 2015 and an annoying bug was removed in 2025. Most recently also the movement was smoothed, levels were added and an evil slimy end boss, hence the reboot. Now the game features better, faster gameplay, 9 new levels (31 at all), end boss, highscore table saved to disk and continues (game progress is saved to disk). You can get the game as digital download for a fair price to support the developer.

06.07.2026 - Lost for 45 years: Catacombs and Goblin Towers for the Commodore PET recovered
Two of the earliest British text adventures ever sold - Catacombs and Goblin Towers, both written by Brian Cotton and published by Supersoft in 1981 - have been recovered in their original Commodore PET form. Until now, only later Commodore 64 releases were known to survive: the 1983 and 1987 versions of Goblin Towers, and the 1986 "Classic Quests" reissue of Catacombs. The PET originals were considered lost. That changed when Colin Haynes came forward with his original copies of both games and offered them for preservation...

'Rally-X Reloaded' for VIC-20 (+35K, PAL only) is an improved version of Rally-X, an 1980 maze video game developed and published by Namco for the arcades. It features smooth borderless scolling and a split screen status display and radar. Collect all the flags before you run out of fuel. Use joystick to control direction and fire for smoke that hinders enemy pursuers.

Jet Set Willy is a platform video game written by Matthew Smith for the ZX Spectrum home computer. It was published in March 1984 by Software Projects and ported to most home computers of the time. Now it also got ported to VIC-20 (PAL VIC with 16k expander, or unexpanded PAL VIC with disk drive).

This time it is Cristian's friend Adrian, who is on an adventure that takes place across six new, larger, and more diverse worlds featuring an even greater number of enemies. Adrian's mission remains the same: to help Crystian find one lost almost-crystal in each world. You can get the game as digital download for a fair price to support the developer.
