29.10.2023 - C64 port of 'Vampire Vengeance' released
'Vampire Vengeance' is a classic single screen platformer game originally made for Spectrum. Now it was ported to C64 and presented at Flashparty 2023 as an entry for the Video Game Category. The game features 4 Acts, 30 Stages, 10 Relics, 2 Endings and it can be downloaded for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developers.

28.10.2023 - Plus/4 emulator YAPE 1.2.4 released
YAPE is a decent no-nonsense Plus/4 emulator thats being developed for 10+ years. It is available in Windows as well as multiplatform editions. Let's kick off the impending cucumber season with a new release of YAPE, a tad earlier than usual in recent years. New in this version: - readded legacy DDraw mode for some folks that prefer blocky graphics (without CRT emulation). - timer scaling could cause a lockup on some machines with older Windows OS's (regression bug). - noise LFSR phase and reset fix (regression bug)

28.10.2023 - Crystal Clear HDMI For The Commodore 64 In 60 Seconds - video from 'The Retro Shack'
There's a new way to add HDMI to the Commodore 64 that uses a new protocol called LumaCode. I am going to take a 60 second challenge to see just how easy it is to install.

28.10.2023 - Amiga game 'Hop to the Top - Bunny's Revenge' released - free for download
As announced, Hop to the Top - Bunny's Revenge is now released. The game is a turn-by-turn procedulally generated puzzle game for Amiga 500. Features: - 68 billion procedulally generated levels. - Turn by turn play. - Increasing levels of difficulty. - Bonuses, pickups, weapons and tools. - Boulder blocking puzzles. - Onnline high scores with game retry. - Keyboard and joystick controls. - Five different types of zombie rabbit each with their own attack pattern 

28.10.2023 - VIC-20 game 'Roguish' released
'Roguish' for the VIC-20 is as the name suggests a roguelike game (or rather a "roguish"-like game - with permanent death, generative-enough, more or less unlimited). You can get the game as digital download for a bargain (name your own price). Features: - Unlimited random rooms, generated in random order from templates with random items, with increasingly numerous and dangerous goblins. - Combat system uses attack (shield) and defence (sword) abilities (yours and your opponent's) to calculate damage. - Enemies use hunt / random walk.

28.10.2023 - C64 game 'Darkland 2' released
'Darkland 2' is a shoot'em up for C64 made with rusty SEUCK but by Alf Yngve. The game is given out as a little Halloween gift from Psytronic and you get it as digital download for a bargain (name your own price) to support the developer.

27.10.2023 - Video: 'Deathmine' for Amiga - WIP v0.02C - Amiga GameDev
This video shows a preview of the WIP Amiga platformer / puzzle game "Deathmine", which was made last year in Blitz Basic 2.1 for the Blitz Basic Game Jam. It's now converted to C/C++ code and the developer planned to continue the work on it.

25.10.2023 - A PETSCII Message from "Hooked On A Feeling" Blue Swede Singer Björn Skifs - video from '8-Bit Show And Tell'
There's a PETSCII-encoded secret message on the cover of the 1984 solo album from Björn Skifs, who is famous as the singer of "Hooked On A Feeling" covered by his band Blue Swede that was a #1 hit song in 1974, and again in 2014 as part of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" soundtrack. We take a look at the record, including a survey of the writers of all the songs (a very accomplished group!) and then set about decoding the message with a trusty Commodore 64.
