Here's another progress report for two current projects from BitBeamCannon: 'Metro Siege' is a retro 16-bit pixel art brawler game being built from the ground-up with a custom engine that not only runs on modern systems, but on classic Amiga computers. 'DaemonClaw: Origins of Nnar' is a 16-bit side scrolling arcade-style action game being made using Construct 3. The game adheres to Amiga specs and may eventually have a classic Amiga port as well.

You must survive the torture screen, negotiate the German factory in your captured ship, blast your way through an Operation Wolf inspired level, escape through the shaft, battle over the surface of the moon in a beautifully parallaxed scrolling shoot 'em up level and then punch and kick your way through the final beat'em up level.

19.04.2021 - 'UltiSID' - Open source SID chip replacement 8580/6581 for C64
'UltiSID' is an open source SID chip replacement 8580/6581 emulator that can be executed on Bluepill boards and STM32F103. Project is heavily inspired by SwinSID and ArmSID project. And is maintained as an open-source alternative to them. Now it is even working on a STM32F103C8T6 on an overclocked freq 128 MHz with 8 MHz crystal. With some errors in behavior - some readings are missing. I'm looking for contributers(I can even pay for the work) who will add some assembler optimization magic into my code. Also I plan releasing Altium Designer PCB hardware files publicly available right after I'll sell 10 copies of UltiSIDs to public.

18.04.2021 - Building an Epyx FastLoad Cartridge & Finding MORE AliExpress Faked Chips! SD2IEC SPEED TEST! - video by 'Mark Fixes Stuff'
We're making an Epyx FastLoad Cartridge for the Commodore 64 8 bit microcomputer! We do a full build of the project from PCBWay, including EPROM programming with my Minipro. We discover that the EPROMs I was sold by AliExpress are fake chips, having been skimmed and remarked by the seller, so we find a way around that issue. Finally we perform a Speed Test between an SD2IEC with and without the Epyx Fastload cartridge and see if it makes a difference!

18.04.2021 - New text adventure game 'Silk Dust' in development for C64/C128/Amiga/VIC-20/Plus4/PET (...and even more platforms)
'Silk Dust' will be the third chapter of the adventures of Emilia Vittorini, after 'Two Days to the Race' and 'The Queen's Footsteps'. The game is currently in a quite advanced beta testing stage, so the developer is particularly interested in getting feedback about typos and bugs. If you find a 'hunt the verb' situation, he can probably improve it, too. Download is completely free.

Farewell Patrick!
Author: Zeldin - written on 31.12.2014

Farewell Patrick!Axis/Cascade is no more. We are all still shaken by the unexpected death of our friend and group mate Patrick aka Axis/Cascade. We wanted to express our sorrow, so I coded a little intro, which you can find in the C64 demo section of this page. The following text is a rough excerpt taken from the scroller:

Dear Patrick, may this be the condolence from the the group that was co-founded by you long time ago. We want to give you our last salute. I (Zeldin) know how much you were breathing the spirit of the scene. That's why I thought a goodbye demo would have made you happy. You and me exchanged lots of mails about how much we both enjoyed the good ol' days and of course: how much we miss them... It was this tie that emotionally connected us for over 15 years. Thanks for all your help in supporting the group and your indefatigable endeavour in spreading our name. Your tattoos were legendary! Thanks for your work on fb and youtube. Your channels were appreciated by a lot of people. Thanks for being such a good chap. You'll be sorely missed!!!

Mach's gut, Patrick... den Adler im Herzen, sge4ever!
